Pasha and Emilia were marked as the best speakers by the Chairs of their committees. Maxim as usual showed brilliant chairing skills.

Everyone got lots of emotions and impressions and looking forward to participating in the next MUN.

GEF club President

Vitalia Maslova

On November 24 GEF-Club held its annual holiday – Thanksgiving Day. This year programme featured different contests such as Best dish contest, Best class decorations, Best costumes and others. Students of all classes beginning from the 5th to 11th took part in contests and games. 8th to 11th grades, in particular, played a game called Jeopardy – where 9th “Accent” form won the main prize – whereas 5th formers watched a cartoon and also played an intellectual game.

As well as being absolutely perfect during the games, students also managed to prepare delicious Thanksgiving dishes they decorated their tables with. I had an opportunity to taste those dishes with other members of the jury and must admit that it was undoubtedly worth it.

In addition to all mentioned above, GEF-Club prepared fleshmob. It has been already the 3rd fleshmob in a row. This year students sang the song “Can’t stop the feeling” by Justin Timberlake, and we also managed to shoot #ManequinChallenge.

All in all, I think that this year’s Thanksgiving was a truly amazing experience. It has obviously improved since the previous year and, apparently, is going to improve further.

MintMun is Minsk Model United Nations. I am utterly pleased to have been a part of that. There were seven different committees and I was a delegate of Sweden in UNEP (United Nations Environmental Program). We discussed two issues: 1) Desertification and soil loss in Sahel region, 2) Sustainable use of marine resources.

The conference lasted four days. There was an Opening ceremony on the first day. During the second and third days we discussed issues and found solutions to them in our own committees. An important point is that the delegates must represent their country’s opinion rather than their individual thoughts.

MintMun is a perfect opportunity to improve speaking skills in English, find new friends. Moreover everyone took part in debates based on global problems that we had to solve.

We had productive and fruitful debates! Hope to continue participating in such a great conference!

MINTMUN – very useful holidays!!!

'Privacy and public securuty: finding a balance.'

This is the main issue of this session held 3-6 November 2016.

Privacy is one of the most essential values in the modern world. How should we treat this issue? And do we really treat it in someway? These were the main words  MINTMUN 2016, held at IBB centre, for its delegates and who  tried to make these points clear during the  four days.

Among the delegates this year were:

All of you worked hard. Please accept our congratulations on this wonderful recognition of your merits. We wish you great achievements next year!

Each year on February 14th, people exchange cards, candy, gifts or flowers with their special “valentine.” The day of romance we call Valentine’s Day is named for a Christian martyr and dates back to the 5th century, but has origins in the Roman holiday Lupercalia.

A man named Valentinus was martyred on February 14 late in the third century A.D.—this much we know. But when it comes to details about the life of St. Valentine, legend often supersedes fact. As you celebrate this Valentine’s Day, find out the truth about the man for whom the day is named, as well as some other intriguing facts about history's most romantic holiday.

We did it at our festivities. Our Brilliant hosts led us into the atmosphere of the day and they thrilled us with the romance of their presenting. They brought beautiful quotes and poems, significance of valentine symbols and more.

Valentine season is here again and love, they say, makes the world go round. In the spirit of Valentine, they shared unforgettable Valentine’s Day experiences.

Happy Valentine’s day to you!

Congratulations to all of the nominees, especially those who got the main prize Oscar statuettes. There were ten films we had recognized. Special thanks to scriptwriters, directors, film and sound editors , makeup masters for the films which entertain us, inspire and motivate us.  We are thankful to parents, class teachers, our teachers of the foreign languages.

Thanksgiving letter

There are many things in my life I’m grateful for. My entire life is something to be grateful for. So, first of all I’m grateful to my mother and father for everthing I have. I’ve been thinking recently about my feelings toward my parents. I love my parents and appreciate them. I understand that they did what they thought was best for me.

These are eight things every parent should be capeble of doing, things we should all be thankful for being lucky enough to have experienced.

  1. A great childhood
  2. Just enough attention
  3. Financial support
  4. Love
  5. Respect
  6. Good advice
  7. All the things they taught you

Parents should be friends. We should be able  to talk with them and share everything. The idea that parents and children can’t understand each other, let alone speak to each other, seems insane to me.

Having parents, who care for you your entire life is truly something to be thankful for.

Lisa Giter

I would like to start by saying that throughout the life we are grateful to someone. First of all we must be grateful to our parents for what they have given us. They give us the opportunity to learn, and live in good conditions, it is fashionable to dress up and have a good phone. Secondly to teachers who teach us. So we were educated people. And in the end the people who form our society, because it directly influences our further position in life.

Finally I thank God for he has given me a chance to feel good in this life and achieve a lot.

Anton VolkonovskyНовый:Users:Anton:Desktop:osozn1.jpg

Parents are divine gift. They are the source of our life on the earth. My father's name is Dmitriy Batyrev and mother's name is Oksana Levchenko. My mother is a housewife and my father is a businessman. They take care of me greatly. They always observe my studies and other activities. I am the apple of their eyes. They always think of my comfort. They always expect my bright future. They want me to be well educated and established in life. They become very delighted if I cut a good figure in the examination. I love my parents more than anything of the world does. My parents always teach me to be honest, punctual, gentle, polite, religious and dedicated. I am proud of having such parents. I can not think of a single moment without them.

Philipp Batyrev

Contest: What Are YouThankful For?

"I am grateful for my parents, who taught me to dream. I am grateful for my friends, who shared my dreams. I am grateful for my aunt, who supported my dreams. Finally, I am grateful for my brother, who helped me realize my dreams."

"I am grateful for my dreams because they push me to do things that I never would have been able to do without them." ”Van Logan Franklin

"I am grateful for being able to travel freely, and to have had the opportunity to visit beautiful places around the world. I have met so many wonderful people who have enriched my life." €”Dan Yagmin, Jr.

"This is such an important question, because without even knowing the answer, it will roll around in your head until your heart opens, your eyes soften, and your whole life begins to reorganize." —Anne O. Kubitsky

Thanksgiving letter

Have you ever had that one person that you are always thankful for? Ever wondered how hard life would have been like without them next to you? Or without them supporting you to achieve your goals? I have thought about that and proudly can say: I have a few. Some people I am thankful for are my friends, family and my mother.

I am really thankful for my mother the most. She has always told me that I will achieve my goals. My mom always gives me opportunities for getting a better future. She does anything that is the best for me, and I appreciate everything she has been doing for all these years..

Some other people I am thankful for is my family. Sometimes we do have misunderstandings, but I love them even when I am in a bad mood. They would always support me and help me go further in life Also each one of my family members always motivates me to do great things.

Some other people I am thankful for are my friends. Each one of my friends is different but they all have one thing in common. They are really nice, and they are people when you need someone to cheer you up. They also support me and I would do the same thing for them. I suppose, If you want a good friend, then you have to be one too.

I am really thankful for each person in my life. My friends, family, and my mother. They all care about me, motivate me and support me.

Be thankful for what you have, that some people do not have.

MINTMUN is an exciting conference held on 5-8 November in Minsk.

During the conference teenagers were solving a great variety of significant problems. MINTMUN involves different committees such as Economic and Financial, Disarmament committee, decolonization committee and Political committee, United Nations Environmental programme, Security Council and 3 types of Human Rights committee. Each committee means discussing 2 issues.in my opinion this conference. In my opinion the conference helps to improve our speaking skills, overcome the fear of public speaking. But the most important is that teenagers try to solve global problems. I’m thankful for having an opportunity to take part in such an event to my school “Eco-El”.

Vitalia Maslova

I visited MINMUN2015. A lot of students from Belarusian schools and universities, foreign guests came to take part in Model United nations in Minsk.  It was great but rather difficult to take part in the debates. I was in Economical and Financial committee. It was very challenging. I was proud to represent our school on the international level of MINMUN.

Maxim Dyatlovich

I went to MINTMUN November, 5. Firstly I thought it would be difficult to participate in such kind of event but I can say despite being difficult MUN is worth visiting. Why? simply because I gained such great experience I haven’t gained for the last 2-3 years.

First of all it was not “I”. it was the country. Since “I” was  prohibited,  we were the country. Okay is out of order. The main idea of MINMUN is to solve world problems but the main rule is to represent your country’s interests. We had 2 parts of debates in our committee. Discussing problems was really difficult. You should raise points and motions during the debates. Everything was great experience.

Alexandra Titova

From the 5th to 8th of November we took part in Minsk Model UN (MINTMUN). It was 4 great days, of new and lasting impressions. Not only school students, but students from universities took part in this conference.  I was a delegate from Japan in Economic and Financial committee. We had two themes: Greek crisis and it's global impact and cooperation with developing African countries. I cannot say that this topic is really close to me, but I am glad that I joined this committee. We had two days of lively debates, at the end of which our committee chose our resolution that we presented at the General Assembly.

At the closing ceremony we chose one resolution that presented GA committees. Almost all countries chose our resolution. So I was very happy. Then we listened to other resolutions.

Besides serious discussions we played games, solved simulated situations, punished those who was late or spoke Russian.

At the end of the last day we had a costume party. I was zebra, Dasha was a survived girl, Ira was Padme Amidala from Star Wars.

Our congratulations to Ira, she took the 2nd place in the costume competition.

We spent a great time there, we met a lot of good people. The most important thing is not to be shy and always say what you think.

Alexa Krivonos

November 5-8, 2015  we took  part in the MintMUN. Our Committee was the biggest one, but also the most united committee. Everyone was discussing problems of waste management and how to save the diversity of plants and animals. We were proposing Point, asking questions. In free time we were playing interesting games. We were very happy and excited.

MINTMUN at “ Eco-EL”

Our students took part in MINTMUN 2015.  General Topic was “Tolerance: new challenge for the 21st century”.

It was an exciting opportunity for our students to learn about foreign policy, to find creative solutions to a variety of problems that arises in our diverse selection of committees. Delegates from our school were to respond to these problems by drafting resolutions and engaging in negotiation and debate.  Active participation in the conference helped   students develop communication- and critical thinking skills such as leadership, teamwork, policy analysis, research, active listening and public speaking. They are extremely excited about the conference, and hope it was equal parts nerve-wracking, exciting, educational and fun.

Congratulations to our winners!!

We would like to congratulate all our marathon winners!!! Thank you for participating in the marathon and stay tuned for more challenging tasks      ….!!!

 Summer Reading, Welcome!

Summer is a great season that everybody awaits passionately for its arrival. Schools are on vacation during this period. Our students like reading in summer. There are many benefits that can be derived from summer reading:

develop good reading habits that will help you in life.

have the opportunity of reading many books that interest you.

they form good reading habits without realizing it.

help you to develop their ability to comprehend.

help to develop their retentive ability

help you to improve reading skills.

“This is not homework — it’s reading outside of school for enjoyment. That’s quite telling.”

What you read does not matter — anything from novels to graphic novels to poetry — “as long as you read … it’s something for enjoyment that makes a difference at school.”

In September we have a good talk about summer reading. We share our impressions , spark really interesting discussions. It's a great way to share recommendations. We travel through books and have a lot of pleasure. Long live summer reading!

Back to school greetings

Dear parents, students and staff members:

Welcome to the 2015-16 school year and all the promise and opportunity of a new beginning.

Saint Valentine's day is the most romantic holiday in our school.
It's the day of love and good memories. This year we tried hard to make this day special.
Our class performed the theatre named "The princess and 4 gifts".
And I think that we coped with our task well.
Our performance brought positive emotions and romantic atmosphere.
We hope that you enjoyed it!

"Our hearts grow tender with childhood memories and love of kindred, and we are better throughout the year for having, in spirit, become a child again at Christmas-time."

Christmas Is Coming!

What is Christmas? Christmas is a time for families and friends to come together to celebrate the season with gifts, food, beautiful decorations, laughter and music, and to enjoy each other's company. Many of our childhood memories revolve around Christmas and the magical colours, lights, smells and excitement associated with it.

I love Christmas! And I love Christmas crafts, Christmas organising, Christmas recipes, and filling the house with Christmas decorations, Christmas music and Christmas smells!

There are so many ways to make Christmas MAGICAL. One of them to fill hearts and lives with the magic of the season is CHRISTMAS OSCAR CEREMONY, CHRISTMAS CARDS AND CHRISTMAS CRACKERS.

But for the parents, we wouldn’t have been able to hold our festival in a great way, so special thanks for them.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello! We would like to tell you about our trip to England.
We lived on the Isle of Wight only for two weeks however we had lots of adventures there.
We came to the airport and few hours later already were on the Isle of Wight. It is one of the most hospitable and beautiful places we have ever seen.
Our host families were very friendly and kind so we made friends with them very quickly.
Next day we had to go to the Isle of Wight College. Mrs Liz and Mrs Jana were very funny and clever thus  our lessons were so interesting that we enjoyed every school day. After studying we always had tours. We were fascinated about the magnificence of the castles, the beauty of nature and people’s bonhomie.
We walked through mazes in the devil’s chimney, tried different rides in the Thorpe Park. Unforgettable impressions remained from the Royal residence, such as Windsor castle and Osborn House.

Valentine's Day is celebrated on February 14th as a festival of romance and affection. People send greeting cards called "valentines" to their sweethearts, friends, and members of their families.   Many valentines have romantic poems, others are humorous.  But almost all valentines ask «Be My Valentine!» This may mean: be my friend or be my love or be my companion. Valentines often show a cupid with an arrow. Cupid, also called Eros, was the ancient Roman god of love.
We also decorated our classrooms  with  bright  red  paper hearts  and celebrated  this day traditionally.  We made valentine cards for our friends ,teachers and parents.  Red is the  colour  most often  used in valentines because it is a symbol of  warmth and feelings.
This is the reason that red roses were very popular that day.  Pink is a mixture of red and white and was quite commonly used also.  White is the symbol of purity and was a colour often used in  valentines. As  it  is traditional  for  sweethearts,  spouses,  and  members  of the family, friends  to exchange gifts on Valentine's Day heart shaped boxes of candy, sweets and flowers were  popular gifts given on that day.
                                  First Ceremony of Oscar
Christmas Oscar ceremony in our school was like a real Oscar ceremony in Hollywood. Students received various awards such as Best Actor, Best Director, Best Picture  and so on. For all participants it was an interesting and good experience, and all classes from the fifth to the tenth grade managed to do it very well.

A very important role in the film is usually played by the leading actor, because he must play his role very well, the script should also be interesting for the audience and the actors, the director must explain to the actors how to play, where to put the camera, the writers should write the script for the film. Therefore, for best film of course you need a good leading actor, as he is the key figure in the film. All our students managed to cope well with their movies. Movies were different and amazing and all of them were interesting and exciting  in their own way.

On the fourth Thursday of November the entire school was celebrating one of the most famous American holidays- Thanksgiving Day.
There were a lot of interesting activities; every form had a different one.  5 and 6 formers had different games and quizzes .The pupils of the 9 form were "teachers". 7 and 8 formers discovered different interesting facts and information from the history of Thanksgiving Day.
For the senior students a debate club was organized , discussing   the topics connected with our holiday. There were many different competitions as well. For example, such as the best Thanksgiving dish (8 formers were the winners), the best decoration of the classroom and so on.
In the end of the day all the results were summed up, 5 formers ( who collected the biggest amount of coins) were the winners!
All in all, this holiday was very funny and interesting. It is really great that we have such days and activities in our school.

Deadline is November, 28 2013
What am I thankful for?
Let’ s pause to appreciate what you have in life! I’m thankful for the sun, moon, stars, rain, show, rainbows, the earth, nature, animals.
Of course, I’m thankful  for modern technologies, computers, the internet, transport, mobile phones, movies, books, blogs, shoes, clothes, music, home.
Sometimes it’ s easy to feel bad because you understand that you haven’t told your family and friends, how valuable they are for you.
There is a great numbers of things to be grateful for in life.
Have you ever thanked your parents that they gave you home, their hearts, and their lives. The most important things starts from our family and friends.
I’ m thankful  for my parents, for giving birth to me;  thanks  for my family, for giving love; thanks  for my friends, for being my companions in my life; thanks  for good health; thanks  for mistakes, for helping me be mature and become a better person.
I’m thankful for my life, for giving me a chance to get life experience. Thanks for life’s challenges, for helping me grow and become who I am.
Thanks for kind strangers, laughter, love, for letting me feel alive.
One thing we take for granted is education. We have never thought about how lucky we were to be educated.
Another thing we take for granted is our teachers, who care for our growth so much, who passing down knowledge for us.
I realized the world is so beautiful, and we’re lucky to live in such an amazing world.
Be thankful for today!

Hi everyone!
We have decided to ask pupils from the 6th -7th forms about our latest holiday- Thanksgiving Day. Everybody was excited about this holiday, especially about collecting coins. Everyone was active and amazed by our competitions as well. We’ve asked our schoolmates which English holidays they also want to celebrate.  7th formers suggested celebrating  Day of Tea, and the pupils from the 6th form proposed to celebrate Halloween in our school. How do you think, it is a good idea? In general everyone was satisfied with our wonderful holiday.
